The Best lunch we never had.
There are a lot of factors that are out of your control as a guide. First of all and most important is the fishing. As much as we try guides cannot control the fishing. Then there is weather, the wind, the crowds, the run of fish, the list goes on. There are three things however I always say that are easily controlled on a trip. Be nice to people, be on time and have a good lunch.
I was half an hour early, I’m always nice to people, and I’ve got no lunch.
Just as I launch the boat, I see that there's no lunch. I can’t believe I would’ve forgotten it. I took extra care to line everything up perfectly for loading the truck. I informed him that this could be a possibility and he said as long as we have coffee "we’re good." I’m still not pleased. I know him not to be a big eater, but I am still choked. These are the things that would stick out in someone's mind. "Oh yeah, that was the day you forgot the lunch" I realize that no one will die but it is unprofessional, and I hate it. I set him up go back to the truck and find the lunch sitting in the corner of the camper.
This will be the best lunch we never had.
