You got me. . . . . . but I got ya back.
I've spent a reasonable amount of time throughout my life around pinching crustaceans. Playing with lobsters and crabs as a kid was just another thing to do. Most of the time it would appear to be more "tormenting" them than it did play but none the less, I don't ever recall being afraid of them or hesitant to handle em. With a former career in the Culinary industry it would also expose me to their painful protection.
Yesterday was the first time of note that I was pinched. I definitely have a tendency to get right in there and I never wear gloves. This time it caught up with me. A reasonable sized dungeoness crab had me full grip smack in the middle of the nailbed of my pinky. For a crab, you'd be hard pressed to get a better hold a humans finger. I felt a little handicapped as I didn't want to let go and hang the weight of the crab from my finger (maybe this would have made him let go) so I was a little handcuffed. Billy was quick thinking as in the summer past he had a crab grab his son Logan's glove and he used a leatherman to break off half the pincher. When it let go my finger was quite flat and had a more depressed area within it. Not a huge deal at all but it tarnished my good record. He got me, but I got him in the end. . . . revenge was delicious.
This reminds me of a video I’ve been wanting to share that my good friend Dave made at the old place at Southland drive. Enjoy
