Over 50 years in one boat

In the above photo, you will see Eugen Hetzl (left) and Dr. Kent Davenport (right). Eugen lives in Austria, he is a fisherman and hunter that has been coming to Babine Norlakes to fish for Steelhead the last 29 years. Everyone who follows the blog will know Dr. Kent Davenport, he does guest posts for me here regularly. Dr. Kent has been coming for 26 years (i believe to a total of around 65 weeks)

These two have somehow been dodging each other for 26 years and this season, on freeze out week, they finally met. I was fortunate enough to have them both together on this day. Eugen has been most often on the freezeout week. Mr. Kent refers to the guests of freezeout week as “the Hardmen” Kent came to the lodge this year for freezeout because it was the only week that he hadn’t been to the lodge and he wanted to experience it.
