Snowboarding
I sometimes forget one of the things that was such a huge part of my life and that brought me to the west in the first place. It’s nice to be snowboarding again.
My reasons for why I do It may have changed. My tempo while out there certainly has. In younger years I would throw myself off of every drop or jump that I thought I was capable of, and some that I was not. Maybe I was chasing the adrenaline rush, the showmanship or the sense of accomplishment after landing a new trick. These days, I am just trying to get some exercise and get out of the house enough to break up tying sessions. I take it pretty easy now, I try to keep the board on the snow and I only really go when the snow is good. There’s too much other fun stuff to bother going when conditions aren't favourable.
As a young teenager, it was hockey and hunting in the winter/fall, fishing and baseball in the spring/summer. Baseball was phased out by skateboarding and Hockey fell the wayside to snowboarding in my later teens. Although I still wear the shoes, The thought of even standing on a skateboard kind of makes my bones hurt.
