Dude, that trailer is too long

An example of some of the hobo spey flies which had defective trailers

Just following up a little on an article I wrote for the blog last year. I found an even better example of a defective hobo Spey fly. A couple of years ago one of the big fly producers had a bad batch of these that after a couple fish or snags they would pull the trailing material too far out beyond the back of the fly. these flies are touch and go for trailer length on a good day but as you can see here this one is ridiculous. These Kill fish, take them out of service.
