The one I reach for, My R1

IMG_5312.jpg

It's the one I reach for in the mornings, it's the one I reach for if I know it's a little chilly. When I'm not wearing it, get a chill and reach to pull the hoody up over my baseball hat . . . . . . I'm a little ticked.

My all weather layer. It may not have helped Dale get this Chinook. . . . but I doubt it hurt either.

It took me a minute to totally fall in love with this piece of clothing, but I likely wear one of my two (mustard or green) R1's well over 200 days a year.

My most colourful piece of clothing.

In a past post, Five Layer dip I spoke about the R1 and some of my layer configurations. I'll allow that post to tell the story. The R1 is one of the best pieces of clothing I have owned for both functionality and durability. I have heard people say that they tend to smell some, but I have not seen this. That being said, I always wear a merino base layer beneath it.

The Ultimate Multi Sport layer for me. Hunting, fishing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, I’ve got it on.

If you have a minute take a look at this clever video made in honour of the R1. It was shown to me by my good friend Quinn @ Troutfarmer. I'm not sure yet if I want to punch him or hug him for showing me this. If this vid doesn't make you laugh, giggle a little, or at least smile, you should check your pulse.
