A wise guest once told me “Everyone gets a few truly special opportunities in life, the hard part is recognizing them as that and acting on the right ones”. (Forgive me, Mr. Kent, if I misquoted you) I believe guiding on the Babine River has been one of my opportunities and I am happy to have had it. It has opened up a lot of doors and it is truly a very special place that’s good for the soul.

I found the above photo yesterday poking through my albums. I was taken by a good friend Kevin S during my first season on the Babine, on my first satellite camp trip. Each week at Norlakes we take three guests 15 miles downriver to our remote satellite camp. We fish our way down, cook dinner hang out, spend the night and fish our way home the next day. So many runs up and down that path since and each one is still special.
